URGENT - Police are requesting your help
Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are appealing to the public to assist in the identification of an armed robber who held up a female cab driver at knife-point.
On Monday, November 5 at approximately 6:00 a.m. Amey’s taxi #88 attended the Mac’s Milk located by the Red Lobster on Bath Rd to pick up a fare. A male, described as Caucasian, in his 20s or 30s, roughly 5’10” in height and wearing a hoodie or jacket with a hood, entered the rear seat of the cab directly behind the driver.
The suspect directed the cab driver to the Runnymede area, near the apartment building located at the corner of Robert Wallace Dr. Once parked the suspect pulled out a knife and held it to the throat of the driver, demanding her money.
A small amount of cash was obtained and the suspect fled on foot. The victim received no physical injuries. Amey’s taxis are equipped with security cameras and detectives were able to obtain still photos of the suspect.
Anyone with information is please asked to contact Detective Chris Gobeil at 613-549-4660 ext 6190 or via email at cgobeil@kpf.ca.
Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or on the website at www.tipsubmit.com. Tipsters are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
